Wayne Newcomb Obituary

Wayne Newcomb of Schererville,IN, age 69, peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday March 3, 2026.

He is survived by his loving wife Jody Newcomb(Farmer); Children Michael Newcomb, Samantha Hamilton and Bobby Hamilton Jr; brother Dave Newcomb, sisters Kim Krsak; Joanne (Mark) Hennessee; nephews and nieces, Timmy (Mindy) Krsak, Angie (Patrick) Ehredt, Jessica (Michael) Kelly, Nicole (Evan Fetherolf) Krsak, Joshua Castillo, Emma and Grant Krsak, Alina Castillo, Michael Kelly Jr., Reagan and Harper Ehredt; Aunt Shelia Snitker and Uncle Edward Sullivan; Aunt Marlene Newcomb and several dear cousins: Grandsons Jaxon Hamilton and Cameron Graan.

Preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Patricia Newcomb (Sullivan); grandparents, Patrick and Mary Sullivan; Chuck and Violet Newcomb aunt Marie Sullivan and uncle David Sullivan, aunt Lois Overland.

Wayne was born April 9, 1956 at USAF Base Burtonwood, England. Wayne's family moved back to Chicago, Illinois when he was 11 months old. It took 2 weeks on a ship. Where Wayne rolled off the cot, rolled under it unnoticed. His mom Pat was frantic, he just disappeared. Eventually they found Wayne sleeping peacefully under the cot. At 14 years old Wayne became naturalized citizen even though he was born on a US Air Base in England so his mother Patricia could be come a U.S. citizen on April 22, 1969. Wayne and his family moved to Hammond, IN in 1971.

Wayne enlisted in the Marines at age 17 where he served 4 1/2 years. He was honorably discharged. He started at Local 150 Midwest Operating Engineers working at Central Rent a Crane. Where he worked 35 years as a crane mechanic/operator. Wayne was a loving husband, father and friend. Wayne loved his family Unconditionally. He enjoyed golfing with his buddies Carl, Dino, Jerry, Tommy(late), Ray and Dave. Wayne was a die hard Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears fan. He enjoyed working around the house and in his gardens. There wasn't a crossword puzzle Wayne couldn't do. He enjoyed reading. Wayne could fix almost anything. It sure was a site to see. Wayne especially enjoyed time with his grandkids Jax and Cameron.
