William Davis Obituary

How do you say goodbye to one of the truly good guys you meet in life....a guy like William "Cals" R. Davis?  Bill was born on December 15, 1953 and left us peacefully on February 6, 2021 with his soulmate Sue Davis of 40 years by his side.  Bill's love of animals, all sports (especially golf), music and his select group of friends is unsurpassed.

His parents, William and Charlotte Davis proceeded him in passing.  Bill leaves behind his wife Sue,  daughter Jennifer Maynard, grandchildren Lauren Blake Maynard and Johnny Maynard, sisters Jan Price (Dave) and Ruth Hensely, brother-in-laws Brad DeReamer (Sharon) and Dave DeReamer (Patti) and numerous nieces and nephews.  Besides blood relatives, Bill left behind a family of lifelong friends.

Bill was 1971 graduate of Griffith High School (a lifelong Panther fan),  a former Marine Corp Sergeant, a retired supervisor from INDOT, and a lifelong member of Legion Post 66 of Griffith.

Susan DeReamer Davis, his wife and sidekick, describes Bill, "he was truly a keeper".  When asked what kept them together she sighed and said, "We constantly made each other laugh.  Love, laughter and forgiveness for an unbelievable ride from childhood to forever."  Bill and Sue really did have love that beat the test of time....they beat the odds.

There will be a Celebration of Bill's Life in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations to either the St. Judes Children's Hospital or any No Kill animal shelter of your choice would be appreciated.

This obituary was a compilation by many who loved and respected him.  Cals, a life well lived brother!
