February 10, 1978 to May 8, 2026
William James Hanemaayer, lovingly known as Bill/Buzz entered his Heavenly Home according to God's perfect plan on Friday May 8, 2026.
Bill was a man who cared deeply for others and found his calling serving them. He embodied the care of Christ to everyone he met. In everything he did, his love for others could be felt. No matter where he was, he always offered an attentive ear, no judgement and shared his hope in Jesus. Bill was secure in his identity as an adopted son of God and lived his life trusting and loving his heavenly father. Though he is no longer with us, his love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He was a true and faithful friend, a loving brother and a man of God.
Always ready with a laugh and smile that was hard to resist, Bill’s fun-loving personality and humor were a source of joy to those who knew and loved him. Some of his legendary antics will stay with us forever. There was a time he traded a not-so-great car for a really great dog. Then there was the time he sent his wrestling coach to the hospital with a crushed knee, or the time he “accidentally” mooned his principal from the bus window.
He will be lovingly remembered by his parents Jim and Becky Hanemaayer; His siblings Ann Brown, Mary and Bill Goldthorpe, Carrie Hanemaayer, Pete and Nicole Hanemaayer. His nephews and nieces Ethan, Trenton, Jayson, Eliana, Brooklyn and Garett. He was a faithful friend to countless others. Though we will miss him, there is no question we will see him again.
A Celebration of Bill’s Life will be held on May 20, 2026.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm 4:00 pm with a Memorial Service at 4:00 pm.
Both will be held at Crown Point Living Stones Church: 909 Pratt St, Crown Point, IN, 46307.
The family would love to hear more stories about cherished antics and memories of Bill.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the family’s GoFundMe.
"What a Day that will be, when my Jesus I shall see."
