William Michael Wilson

William M. Wilson, AKA Mickey Wilson, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 8, 2025.

He was born January 9, 1956 in Gary Indiana to John and Lou Ellen Wilson. 

William is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy Wilson, sister Lisa Daniel (Barry) and by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He attended Calumet High School, graduating in 1974 and never missed a day of school for 12 years. William was employed by Inland Steel for 30 years. On May 1, 1989 he married Kathy. William loved to be surrounded by wildlife and feeding the animals. He loved sports and was a huge fan of the  St. Louis Cardinals since a very young age. William was obsessed with the local high school sports teams, cheering on many young men from Black Oak basketball, wrestling and football teams. He loved to attend the games in person, but when it became impossible for him to do so, he would watch it on the phone. It gave him such joy to witness the success of these young men.

For many years, William and Kathy loved going down to the river and spending time with their friends where they enjoyed fishing, floating, boating, and most of all, he loved sharing a cold one with all his friends. 

William was preceded  in death by his parents, John and Lou Ellen Wilson, brothers Sonny and Eddie Wilson, and sister Katherine Gipson.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 beginning at 4:00 PM followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00 PM with Pastor Bob Parnell officiating at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 8941 Kleinman Road (one block south of Ridge Road) Highland, IN.
