William T. Stamper

William T Stamper, age 70, of Merrillville, IN, peacefully passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2025. He is survived by brothers David (Kathy) Stamper of Demotte, Indiana and Robert (Phyllis) Stamper of Rensselaer, Indiana and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Anne (née Kacer) Stamper and brother Harold L Stamper.

William proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy on the USS Independence CV – 62 Aircraft Carrier.

William was born March 19, 1955 in San Fernando California and was a 1973 graduate of Highland High School. He worked as a Steelworker at Inland Steel, as an Ironworker for Local 395, and as a Carpenter. He was a confessing Christian who enjoyed reading and studying the scriptures, and ringing the bell for Salvation Army during the holidays.

William will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 Hoff Rd. Elwood, IL on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 1:30 PM. Those attending are asked to arrive no later than 1:15 PM.
