William "Bill" Barney Hamby

William “Bill” Barney Hamby, age 52, Merrillville, IN, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020, after battling an acute illness. He is survived by his daughter Heather Hamby, son Billy Hamby, and was a father to David Witt and Mathew Witt. He had grandchildren to include Abigail Witt and others. His loving mother, Sarah “Doll” Hamby survives his passing, as does his loving sister Sarah Regina Hutcheson, and her son, Tyler Hutcheson. His brother Jay Hamby, spouse Teralyn Hamby, and their children Tarah Hamby, and Brandon Hamby. His brother Ricky Hamby.

Bill was a BMX racer in his early life. During childhood, he enjoyed telling stories. After graduating high school, he became a machinist, welder, over the road truck driver, millwright, and forklift operator. He enjoyed riding four wheeler’s, watching movies with good friends, and video chatting with people.

There will be a private visit for family members at Hillside Funeral Home & Cremation Center and he will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Crown Point, IN.
