William "The Dude" Evans Obituary

William “The Dude” Evans, age 53, of Hammond, IN, left this earthy realm on Thursday, June the 9th, 2022. He is survived by his three daughters and their husbands, Amanda (Billy) Best, Brittany (James) Minard, and Brandi (Justin) Collins. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Cassie, Korban, David, Ashlynn, Kallie Best; Lily Smith, Zoe Minard, Grandchild on the way Minard; Lucian and Persephone Collins. The Dude is also survived by his beautiful, supportive rock, Dotty Evans. Their love and story built this wonderful family. There is no Dude without Dotty and no Dotty without Dude. They have and will forever hold each other in one another’s hearts.

The Dude’s married life started with a bang! He met Dotty and knew he had to have her. He was very adamant and eventually won her heart that also came with two little girls. The Dude treated these girls as his own and soon after welcomed another little girl into their little family. The Dude worked hard every day and provided for his and children. He was not your conventional father, but he was the best father and husband that three girls and a wife could ask for. The Dude also loved all his grandchildren so very much.

The Dude was beloved by many. He was a DJ and exceptional dart player. The Dude and Dotty were renowned for their playing and also, wild personalities. Together they have won many awards, but have gained so many more friendships that lasted them a life time. To those friendships, Know Dude loved you all.

The Dude enjoyed life. He always loved to go to concerts and to make jokes (no matter how inappropriate), but never to offend. He went to many concerts, but we know the ones that touched him most were Black Sabbath and Dio. Those artists helped him through more times than any. The Dude loved his family and always tried his damnedness to always be there for them no matter what. He loved his music, (his daughter always joked he should teach music appreciation to show these young kids just what’s what). He was so intelligent on so many subjects and could out you in your place, (but he never felt the need to do so).

The Dude will be missed by his beautiful wife, his children and their significant others, grandchildren and so, so many others that he has touched in his lifetime. To meet The Dude once was enough for you to know and understand he was one hell of a kind of person and soul. He was brilliant in intellect, but so down to earth. All who have known him will never in their lives ever be the same again.
