Zona (Hubbard) Welch

It is with great sadness that the family of Zona (Hubbard) Welch announces her passing after a brief illness, on Friday, November 20, 2020, at the age of 72 years old. Zona is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas & Thelma (Henson) Hubbard, her husband of 53 years, Charles Welch, her son James Welch, and her only brother Hobart Hubbard.

Zona will be lovingly remembered by her children CT (Karen) Welch, and Wendy (Mike) Haenes and daughter-in-law Christi Welch. Zona will also be remembered by her eight grandchildren, Zach (Kayla) Welch, Shelby (Dillon) Mcneill, Amanda Welch, Matt Morgan, Dalton Ison, Joey and Natalie Cudziol, Hannah & Cody McClellan. She will be deeply missed by her nine great-grandchildren, Eden, Eli, Aubrey, Weston, Skyla, Harper, Paisley, and Hudson. Zona is survived by her five siblings, Laure Jo Hudleston, Mary (Terri) Trader, Mable Hubbard, Sandy (Jeff) Banks, Linda Hubbard, and too many cousins to count. Zona always had a way of touching the lives of everyone she came into contact with. She will be missed by many. If anyone has had the chance to meet her, I think they would agree. She was loved by many.

While Zona’s family grieves her, they are choosing to remember Zona in a way that honors her spirit. Her two surviving children, CT & Wendy invite the family to join them in a Celebration of Life Ceremony. It will take place at 9:00 am, Wednesday, November 25th, 2020 at Calumet Park Cemetery 2305 West 73rd Avenue, Merrilliville, IN 46410. There will be no visitation.
